Srinagar- Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Srinagar have seized vehicle acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.
An official said that Srinagar Police has seized vehicle bearing registration no. JK01J 7081 from two drug peddlers namely Asif Ahmad Sheikh and Arif Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Babapora Barthana. Both the accused persons have been arrested vide case FIR no.136/2024 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Parimpora and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
During financial investigation of the case, it came to fore that the vehicle was acquired through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade by these accused persons.
The seizure of vehicle has been made under the provisions of section 68 of NDPS Act. J&K Police reiterates its commitment in eradicating the drug menace and dismantling the infrastructure supporting narcotics trafficking.
