Jammu- Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday promoted 58 Deputy Superintendents of Police (Dy SPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP)
The decision was formalised through Government Order No. 548-Home of 2024 issued on December 3. The order brings significant career advancements for the officers, some of whom have received notional promotions dating back several years.
The list of promoted officers include Prithpal Singh, Arun Kumar, Noor Ul Hassan, Sunil Kumar Kesar, Pranav Mahajan, Ashok Sharma, Prithpal Singh, Zaheer Abbas, Shafat Mohd Najar, Fayaz Hussain Shah, Zafar Iqbal Nawaz, Bashir Ahmad, Mir Murtaza Hussain Sohil, Iftikhar Ahmed, Syed Javeed Ahmad, Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad, Nisar Ahmad, Mohd Irfan Khan, Aumer Iqbal, Syed Sajad Hussain, Mumtaz Ali, Regzin Sandup, Shivali Kotwal, Arvinder Singh Kotwal, Altaf Ahmad Naik, Wajahat Hussain, Mohd Muzaffar Jan, Ishtyagq Ahmad Kacho, Mohd Shafig, Gh Hassan Sheikh, Rashid Younis, Rajinder Singh, Mohd Shafi Sheikh, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari, Mohd Aslam, Ravinder Singh, Chhabil Singh, Mohan Lal, Mohd Aftab Awan, Faroog Ahmad Wani, Mohammad Usman, Nawaz Ahmad, Govind Rattan, Bikram Kumar, Garu Ram, Nihar Ranjan, Fahim Ali, Rameez Rashid, Abid Rashid Mir, Mohd Saleem Bhat, Shivender Singh Jamwal, Rameez Raja, Nikhil Rasgotra, Amit Kumar Sharma, Mubashir Rasool, Ravinder Singh, Sunny Gupta, Tariq Mahmood, and Devinder Singh Bandral.
The promotions are based on recommendations from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) as per Letter No. PSC/DPS/Home/6/2024-05. The regularisation of these officers is subject to any pending court proceedings or legal outcomes that may affect their status.
