Srinagar- Police on Monday filed a case against a headmaster of a government-run school for assaulting a minor student in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The shocking incident came to fore after the parents of the 4th standard student Mujeeb Ahmad Lone filed a formal complaint before the police alleging that their child was beaten up by the headmaster of a government primary school in the Koli Mohallah, causing damage to his eye with a stick, a local news agency KNT reported.
The report said that the alleged assault occurred in the classroom on Monday.
Quoting sources, the agency reported that the headmaster, who has a history of similar behavior, has been booked under sections 115(2) and 351(2) of the law, while an FIR vide number 63/2024 was registered against him at police station Pathkoot Bandipora.
The parents also apprised the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora of the issue, the report added.
