Kargil- The Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, on Tuesday launched a three-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme at Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium, Kargil.
Themed around Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Poshan Abhiyaan, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) and the New Criminal Laws, the programme aims to raise awareness on sustainable development, National Integration, importance of balanced nutrition and new criminal laws.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil. In his presidential address, Dr. Akhoon emphasized the importance of sustainable development and adopting a healthy lifestyle to secure a prosperous future. He highlighted various developmental initiatives undertaken by the government for the Kargil region and urged participants to actively contribute to the betterment of society and the environment.
On the inaugural day, resource persons from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Forest, Education, and Health departments deliberated on a wide array of topics like sustainable development, cleanliness, balanced nutrition, and environmental preservation. The speakers also provided detailed insights into various government schemes and initiatives, encouraging participants to benefit from these initiatives for personal and community growth.
Shri Ghulam Abass, Director CBC, J&K and Ladakh region, welcomed participants and underscored CBC’s commitment to field outreach. He noted that similar programmes were conducted across the Ladakh Union Territory during the past three weeks to disseminate information about key government schemes and policies.
Activities on the inaugural day included an open quiz competition, expert lectures, presentations, documentary screening and group discussions. Cultural troupes empanelled with CBC J&K also presented theme based skits and musical performances to enthral the audiences.
As part of CBC’s integrated communication strategy, a photo exhibition on Poshan Abhiyaan, Mission LiFE and New Criminal Laws has also been set up at the venue.
Stalls were set up by various departments to showcase various initiatives and a wide range of services being provided to the people by them.
A large number of students, beneficiaries of various schemes and local participants attended the first day’s proceedings.
Among those who addressed the gathering on the inaugural day were Dr. Ali Mohd, Divisional Forest Officer, Kargil, Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar and Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag.
Shahid Mohammad Lone informed that the programme will continue for the next two days, wherein themes like Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, New Criminal Laws, Mission LiFE and Poshan Abhiyaan will be deliberated upon.
The inaugural day concluded with felicitation of the guests and the competition winners. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar to bring curtains on the first day’s proceedings.
