Srinagar- Discontent is brewing among workers of the National Conference (NC) in the Eidgah constituency following the decision by the party high command to grant Mubarak Gul the party ticket for the upcoming Assembly Elections.
Several workers have voiced their dissatisfaction, saying that Gul’s tenure has failed to bring about the much-needed development in Eidgah constituency.
Fayaz Ahmed, a worker of the National Conference said that are unhappy with the party high command for granting Mubarak Gul the party ticket for Eidgah constituency.
“Eidgah is in the heart of Srinagar city, but our condition is worse than that of far-flung areas. We crave basic amenities. Mubarak Gul has done no development for the area. We need someone who will work for development,”Ahmed said.
Similar views were shared by other NC workers within the constituency, who feel that the leadership has not paid enough attention to the developmental needs of Eidgah.
The workers argue that despite being centrally located in Srinagar, the constituency has been neglected, leading to a significant lag in infrastructure and basic services.
The NC workers have, however, made it clear that their dissatisfaction does not extend to leaving the party. “We have no intention of leaving the party but we want the party ticket to be given to someone who is young, dynamic, and committed to working for the prosperity of the Eidgah constituency.”
However, the party leadership is yet to respond to the concerns made by the NC workers.
