Srinagar- The construction work on Balidaan Stambh or the martyr’s memorial at Pratap Park in the heart of the city, according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Srinagar Smart City Ltd. (SSCL), Dr Ovais Ahmad is on in double shifts and is set to be finished by the deadline.
Dr Ovais, who is also the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), said SSCL has tasked multiple teams to finish the work on the Balidaan Stambh, foundation stone of which was laid by the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on June 23 last year.
The SSCL project, he claimed, is being built to its full potential in accordance with the current weather in Srinagar.
“We have tasked multiple teams, and the work is being done in double shifts (day and night), therefore we cannot expect the project to go as quickly as it is now. The work on this project is in full swing and will be finished by the deadline,” he told reporters during his visit to Pratap Park to review the progress on the under construction project.
He also said the SSCL is trying its level best to complete all the pending projects in Srinagar within the deadline.
