Says Those Opposing Peace In J&K Should Prepare For Their End
Srinagar- Referring to the recent spate of terrorist attacks in Jammu region of the union territory, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said it will take a few months for the situation in J&K to return to normal, and those opposing the peace should prepare for their end.
“Those who cannot digest (the peaceful atmosphere here), they should be (ready) for their end. People here have given a befitting response to them before also. The situation demands so. I think the situation will be back to normal again in a few months,” Sinha said.
The LG was apparently referring to the recent spate of terrorist strikes in Jammu province that resulted in the deaths of as many security forces personnel and civilians as well.
The LG also welcomed the Union Budget, describing it as historic and all-inclusive that gives priority to the four vital communities of the society including the poor, women, youth, and the framers.
The LG extended his sincere thanks to the Prime Minister and the union Finance Minister for presenting an all-embracing budget in the parliament, which he claimed, will help lay a strong underpinning to the developed India and the developed J&K.
Raising farmer incomes and providing employment opportunities for youth, according to the J&K LG, were the union budget’s key priorities.
“The budget focuses on how people are attracted to organic farming so the environment is protected and the labor costs are proportionately lowered,” Sinha said, adding besides raising job opportunities for youth, the budget-2024 focuses on how women become self-reliant.
He said the union finance minister has provided money with a freehand to J&K and that details will be shared accordingly, once the budget is enacted.
“To address our concerns and for the overall growth of J&K, the honorable union Finance Minister has provided money with a freehand. This budget, as I already said, is historic, and it will help boost J&K’s economy,” he added.
‘Every Drop Of Blood Will Be Avenged’
Pakistan is trying to disturb peace in Jammu to hinder its progress but every drop of people’s blood shed by terrorists will be avenged, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha said here on Wednesday.
The LG’s remarks came in the backdrop of a series of terrorist attacks in the Jammu region over the last 45 days.
At a function at Raj Bhavan here, Sinha said, “Today, once again, the terrorist country of Pakistan is making efforts to disturb peace in the Jammu division. It wants to stop its progress.”
“From Poonch-Rajouri to Kathua-Reasi and Doda, the families of those who want to build a bright future for themselves are being targeted. All of you should always remember that every drop of (people’s) blood shed by Pakistani terrorists will definitely be avenged,” he said.
Sinha said the need of the hour is to stand together against terrorism.
Underlining that Gujjars and Bakarwals are considered the first line of defence on the border, he urged people from the two communities to share information with the security forces.
“Your help is also needed to destroy the drug network. Those who support terrorism and drug smuggling do not belong to any community or caste. If action is taken against such people, then I think it should be welcomed,” the LG said.
There have been 15 terror incidents in the Jammu region in the last 45 days. Ten security personnel, including two officers, and nine pilgrims were killed in these attacks and 58 people were injured.
