Srinagar- The Central Administrative Tribunal on Wednesday directed Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission to produce in ‘sealed cover’ the result of 38 candidates who participated in J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2023 but their result is yet to be declared in view of the directions by the Tribunal.
The directions were passed by a bench of M. S. Latif (Member (J)) and Prasant Kumar (Member (A)) on an application filed by the candidates through their counsel Arif Sikander Mir. The counsel submitted that the JKPSC on July 9 this year declared the results of the J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2023. However, he said, the result of the 38 candidates has not been declared in view of orders passed by the Tribunal on March 5 wherein it was made clear that the JKPSC would not declare the same unless otherwise directed.
Subsequently, the Tribunal issued notice to JKPSC. “In the meanwhile, respondents (JKPSC) shall produce the result of the applicants in a sealed cover before the Court on 29-07-2024,” the CAT said, adding, “The result in sealed cover be produced before the Court through a Senior Officer of the PSC.”
The Tribunal however made clear that mere declaration of result will not confer any preferential right upon these candidates and their rights shall remain subject to the final outcome of the original application.
