Thousands of Shia Muslims on Wednesday participated in the Ashura procession to honor the martyrs of Karbala.
People from other faiths were seen joining them. Locals and other organisations had organised sabeels to quench the thirst of mourners who marched in scorching heat in the old city’s Zadibal locality of Srinagar.
