Srinagar- The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has clarified that there will be no extension to the summer break for schools in the Kashmir division.
An official of DSEK said that the public and the school community should not pay attention to any rumours suggesting otherwise.
The department emphasised that all schools will reopen from Thursday and any information contrary to this is baseless.
DSEK official reassured parents, students, and staff to prepare for the resumption of academic activities.
This decision comes despite requests from several quarters for an extended vacation due to the ongoing heatwave. Earlier, a 10-day summer vacation had been declared early, extending until July 17, 2024.
The authorities, however, have confirmed that necessary measures are in place to ensure a conducive learning environment for students. Schools are advised to follow the guidelines to mitigate the effects of the heat.
