Srinagar- A local vernacular Kashmiri language daily newspaper ‘Kahwat’ launched its social media page on the completion of its 16 years of publication in Jammu and Kashmir.
In this regard, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of Kashmir Press Service here during which a social media platform of the newspaper was inaugurated for the completion of 16 years of journalistic journey of the Kashmiri language.
The event was chaired by Akash Amin, Chairman of Kashmir Press Service and Editor-in-Chief of Kahwat. He highlighted the importance of the newspaper and the need to open the social media platform for the Kashmiri language newspaper to reach a vast audience.
“It is not an easy task to continue the publication of the newspaper for the development and promotion of our mother tongue in this turbulent era, but it is due to the hard work of the editor-in-chief Akash Amin, Raja Mohiuddin, and other workers associated with the institution,” the speakers said.
Dean of Academics Affairs Central University of Kashmir Dr Shahid Rasool, former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kashmir University Dr Shawkat Shafi Masoodi, journalist Majid Jahangir, Cultural officer Dr Shabnam Rafiq, educationist Nazir Qureshi and other dignitaries were present during the inauguration of ‘Kahwat’ social media channel.
