Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir’s team for the 7th National Indoor Rowing Championship embarked on their journey Thursday from Srinagar to Moga, Punjab, where they aim to showcase their talent and competitive spirit on a national stage.
The team comprises talented athletes selected from across the valley based on their performance in regional qualifiers earlier this year.
As per the details, the athletes are set to compete in various categories including singles, doubles, and team relay events during the championship scheduled for later this month.
The flag-off ceremony was held in Srinagar, graced by the presence of Member of Parliament Syed Aga Ruhullah, who extended his best wishes to the athletes and emphasized the importance of sports in youth development.
“The dedication and hard work of our athletes have earned them the opportunity to represent J&K at a national level,” said Ruhullah while addressing the gathering.
“I am confident that they will make J&K proud with their performances at Moga,” he added.
Pertinently, athletes expressed their excitement and determination ahead of the Championship, highlighting their rigorous training regimen and readiness to compete against top rowers from across India. “We have trained tirelessly for this championship, and we are eager to demonstrate our skills,” remarked one of the team’s members.
