Srinagar- The body of a Bandipora youth, who jumped into the River Jhelum at Chattabal on June 01, has been recovered, officials said.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the body of the youth, identified as Mohammad Iqbal Dar, son of Abdul Satar, a resident of Sadnara Hajin Bandipora, was found at Sangam.
He had jumped into the River Jhelum at Bharave Ghat Chattabal, Srinagar.
The police have begun an investigation, and more details are awaited.
Meanwhile, an unidentified dead body was recovered in Dal lake near ghat no.1 in Dalgate area of Srinagar district on Thursday morning.
Quoting an official, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that that a dead body was spotted by some locals in dal lake, ghat no 1.
He said that they accordingly called police who reached the spot and took the body into their custody.
They said that identification is being ascertained while further investigation has been taken up.
