Srinagar- Sacked from services for his corrupt practices, a former Labor Department official was caught tricking the gullible shopkeepers once more by posing as a labor officer to seek illegal gratifications from them.
The sacked official, identified by the Labor Department authorities as Shameem Ahmad Bazaz, was caught on CCTV posing as a labor officer in order to seek monetary benefits from naive shopkeepers.
Officials said Bazaz was sacked from services for his corrupt practices earlier and that the department has again initiated legal action against him for duping shopkeepers.
The Labor Department has issued an alert to all businesses warning them about his illicit activities and advising them not to fall for his ruse.
“We implore every business entity in Kashmir to avoid being duped and to resist falling for his imitation,” the department said, adding the department offers all services online, and anybody requesting payment for any service should report them immediately to the ACB, CBI, or Crime Branch.
An official told Kashmir Observer that the accused person was involved in corrupt practices, prompting the government to sack him from services right away.
“The department will look into the accused’s activities after reviewing the CCTV evidence, making sure the appropriate legal actions are taken against him as at the earliest. In the meantime, we appeal to the people to refrain from falling for con artists posing as officers in order to save their hard-earned money,” he added.
