Srinagar- At least four residential houses were damaged in a fire incident that broke out in Nowpora area of Srinagar late last night, officials said on Monday.
An official said that two double-storey residential houses were damaged in the fire incident at Nowpora Srinagar.
The attic portion including roofing, ceiling, and first floor along with household goods of both the houses, he said were severely damaged, while some planks and mirrors of two other adjacent residential houses suffered indirect damage due to heat and water.
Meanwhile, the family members said, “We are left with nothing as our money, gold, and other household items were damaged in the blaze, and we request the authorities for immediate financial assistance.
2 Firefighters Injured In Batamaloo Blaze
Two firefighters were injured while dousing off flames in Batamaloo area of Srinagar late Monday evening, officials said.
An official said that fire that broke out in a residential house in Baranpathar area, while fire tenders were dispatched to the spot, no sooner the incident was reported.
He said during the operation, two firefighters were injured, however, their condition is stated to be stable.
The injured firefighters have been identified as Noor Alam and Ajaz Ahmad.
