Jammu- A somber gathering of literary personalities convened at the Writers Club Jammu on Wednesday to pay homage to the late Farooq Nazki.
The members observed a two-minute silence, expressing their collective grief over the demise of the renowned Indian poet, broadcaster, and former Director of Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir Srinagar.
In a poignant moment of reflection, attendees shared memories of Nazki’s contributions to literature and media. The writers offered their condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
The literary community emphasized the profound impact of Nazki’s work on the cultural and literary heritage of the region. As a mark of respect, the literary community plans to organize further tributes and discussions to honor his legacy.
Those who were present included Prof Zaman Azurda,Prof Shad Ramzan, State Convenor Sahitya Academy ,Prof Farooq Fayaz, B N Betab, Aseer Kishtwari, Prof Mushtaq Wani, B K Sanyasi, A K Naz, Prof Asadullah Wani and other dignitaries.
