SRINAGAR- J&K senior men’s cricket team will be at home Friday morning as it takes on Uttarakhand in 2024 Ranji Trophy at JKCA Hostel Ground in Jammu.
J&K is fourth in Elite Group D, picking up 11 points from its four matches. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand has seven points from its four games and is seventh in the eight-team Ranji Trophy group.
Uttarakhand has won one game, lost two and drawn two. J&K also has only one win in its kitty, a two-wicket victory over Odisha. However, after two straight draws in Jammu, where both matches couldn’t be completed due to bad light, J&K fought back to earn an innings lead against table-toppers Baroda (20 points in 4 games) in its last outing.
With only the top two teams entering the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy, J&K needs to emerge victorious in all its remaining three games to make it through.
Madhya Pradesh is currently second, with 16 points from its four games, winning two and drawing two. Puducherry is third, racking up 12 points from its four.
J&K faces both these teams in its final rounds of Group Stage matchups, and only wins will ensure it remains in the competition.
J&K Probable XI:
Vivrant Sharma, Shubham Khajuria (c), Abhinav Puri, Shubham Pundir, Abdul Samad, Fazil Rashid (WK), Auqib Nabi, Abid Mushtaq, Umar Nazir Mir, Umran Malik, Rohit Sharma.
