SRINAGAR- J&K Ice Skating team, comprising of eight athletes and two officials, will participate in the Speed Skating event at the 4th Khelo India winter Games 2024 set to be held at Leh, Ladakh for the first time.
This year, the Khelo India Ice Events will be conducted at Leh from February 2 to 6. The J&K Ice Skating contingent is led by M. Ashraf Dijoo, senior national coach and general secretary of Ice Skating Association of J&K.
The J&K team comprises of Wafa Tariq, Shifa Tariq, Nashra Reyaz, Raquib, Ali Dar, Sheikh Umer Iqbal, Saleem Ashraf Malik, Dabeer Wani, along with Autar Singh, Team Manager.
The team will leave for Leh on January 31 and return on January 7.
This is the first time the Khelo India Winter Games 2024 will be held at Ladakh and will be a new experience for the players competing at the Natural Ice Rink frozen on Sind River, facing the high altitude with lowest temperature.
