Srinagar: Mughal Road and the Srinagar-Kargil road have been closed for traffic due to snow accumulation along the stretch.Quoting an official, a local agency reported that the closure is a precautionary measure for passenger safety while road clearing operations are underway.
After a month-long dry spell, the Peer Ki Gali area in Shopian district received a fresh spell of snow yesterday.
The Meteorological Office has issued an advisory cautioning about temporary road closures in higher reaches and important passes like Sinthan Pass, Mughal Road, Zojila, Sadhna, and Razdan Pass from January 28-31.
