In a notable development for Kashmir’s avian landscape, a novel bird species, Black-necked Grebe has been spotted for the first time among the migratory flocks at Hokersar Wetland.
This finds, which has thrilled birdwatchers and conservationists, comes amidst ongoing efforts to restore the wetlands.
Captured through the lens of avid bird photographer Reyan Sofi, the discovery has been successfully added to eBird – an online database of bird observations that provides real-time data about bird distribution and abundance.
