Srinagar- J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha claimed on Tuesday that Srinagar has become the talk of the major Indian cities after beginning to emerge as a new model of urban transformation in the country.
The LG said that Srinagar is the most talked-about city in India at the moment due to the remarkable improvements brought about by the Srinagar Smart City Ltd in the summer capital.
The Srinagar Smart City project, which has completely transformed Srinagar’s looks, is the greatest accomplishment Shehr-e-Khas has made to yet, he claimed.
“Srinagar is emerging as a new paradigm for urban transformation and has become the most talked about city among the major cities of India. SSCL, which has transformed the look of Srinagar, I think, is the biggest achievement Shehr-e-Khas ever has made,” LG told reporters after inaugurating renovated Habbakadal Bridge here this evening.
Sinha said the project, which is being executed under the Srinagar Smart City, was a wonderful gift for the people of the old city, hoping that Srinagar will serve as an example in the time to come.
He also said the work on five kilometer Jhelum River Front phase 2 at the estimated cost of Rs 17.85 Cr has begun and the initiative would improve the quality of living of the people of the cold city.
Replying to a media query on whether the previous government neglected Srinagar, the LG said it would not be appropriate to say whether or not Srinagar was neglected, everything that is going on right now is good.
The LG also claimed that the video clip from December 31st became more popular than those from Goa or other Indian states.
