SRINAGAR- J&K para cricket captain Amir Hussain Lone is inspiring everyone who sees him play cricket. Amir, a resident of Waghama village in Bijbehara, bowls with his foot and bats with his shoulder and neck.
Amir Hussain Lone, 34, lost both his arms in an accident when he was 8. However, that didn’t stop him pursuing his passion, as he started playing professionally in 2013. Soon enough, he was introduced to para cricket and the rest, as they say, is history.
“I played nationals in Delhi in 2013 and in 2018 I played an international match against Bangladesh,” Amir told ANI. “After that, I played cricket in Nepal, Sharjah and Dubai. Everyone was shocked to see me playing with my legs (bowling) and batting with my shoulder and neck. I thank God for giving me the strength to play cricket.”
He also revealed that his favourite cricketers are Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
Amir also told the publication that a movie on his life is currently being made by Pickle Entertainment.
