Yakjut”, meaning unity, the group that holds vibrant debates and discussions on social issues, with diverse opinions from women of different backgrounds. This platform is for all Kashmiri women without any discrimination based on caste, creed or religion.
“Yakjut,” which was started on January 6, 2019, by Syed Hanaz Tariq, a Kashmiri automation engineer, is widely utilized by majority Kashmiri women who use social media globally.
The group isn’t limited to social talks; homemakers aiming for financial independence also sell a variety of goods, including jewelry, pickles, honey, baked goods, and much more. Women can also use this forum to ask other women for advice and support. The group also provides an opportunity for young women-run startups to connect with potential consumers.
Aside from business, Yakjut offers an environment for enjoyment, story-telling, and experiences where women can at times express their emotions in an anonymous manner.
