Srinagar- Five drug peddlers, one among them a woman was arrested by police on Friday in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, a police spokesperson said.
A team of cops from Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kralhar intercepted a Tata Venture vehicle (JK05D-3072) with five persons including a lady on board, he said. During search, he said, 45 grams of brown sugar & 345 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from their possession.
The police identified the accused as Bakir Ahmad Rather, Sharik Ahmad Sheikh, Sharif Ahmad Sheikh, Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, and a woman (name withheld) all residents of Dewan Bagh Baramulla.
“They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at police Station Baramulla and investigation have been initiated,” the police spokesperson added.
