SRINAGAR- Khelo India Women’s Rugby League in Jammu & Kashmir 2023 began Monday at Polo Ground West here. The league is being organised under the banner of Sports Authority of India and in collaboration with Rugby India and J&K Sports Council. The competition will be held from December 25 to 26.
More than 400 females athletes from across J&K are taking part in the mega tournament, which will have Sub Junior, Junior and Senior Girls categories.
Tausif Ahmed, co-ordinator of Khelo India J&K and SAI Badminton Coach, along with Zulfkar Ali Bhat, Water Sports Coach from SAI Water Sports Centre Nehru Park, and Prateek Kumar, Assistant Volleyball Coach from SAI STC Jammu, graced the event.
The winning team will be awarded with Rs. 50,000 cash award, while first runner-up gets Rs. 30,000 and the second runner-up are awarded Rs. 20,000.
All three age categories will be awarded with cash award and certificate medals, souvenirs, etc.
