Srinagar- A large number of people from different sections of the society, including political leaders, leaders of the trade and religious organizations, bureaucrats, converged at the residence of the Editor Kashmir Observer, Sajjad Haider at Shalimar to attend fateha of his mother, Sayeda Hameeda.
She was the widow of prominent scholar, late Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari and daughter of late Aga Syed Muhammad Shah Jalali. She passed away here on Sunday, December 17 and was laid to rest at Baba Mazar, Zadibal.
A large number of people from different walks of life converged at the residence of Sajjad Haider to attend Chaharum of his mother.
Congregational Fatiha Khwani was offered at Baba Mazar at 8 AM and later a day-long memorial service continued at Gulshan-e-Ali Shalimar.
Meanwhile, the representatives of Awami Action Committee (AAC) and Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) visited the residence of Sajjad Haider to offer their condolences.
AAC expressed grief over the demise of mother of Kashmir Observer editor-in-chief Sajjad Haider who was also the aunt of Ittehadul Muslimeen Chairman Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari.
On the directions of AAC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a delegation visited the residence of Sajjad Haider in Shalimar and conveyed the condolence message of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir to him.
The delegation conveyed Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir’s condolence message to Sajjad Haider, Moulana Masroor and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members.
The delegations prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed souls and forbearance to the bereaved families at this hour of grief.
Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu Kashmir (EJAC) president, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam also expressed immense grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the mother of editor Kashmir Observer, Sajjad Haider.
While expressing condolences on the demise, Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam in his condolence message said that the EJAC leadership shares the grief of the bereaved family.
Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam prayed to almighty Allah to bestow Jannat ul Firdous to the departed soul and grant patience and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, Shabnam visited the house of the deceased to express condolences and sympathies with the bereaved family especially with Sajjad Haider.
Anjuman Sharie Shiayan leader Agha Syed Mujtaba also visited the bereaved family to offer condolences.
Agha Syed Hadi al Musavi has also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. In a statement he paid rich tributes to the mother of Sajjad, Shahid and Hamid Ansari.
