Srinagar- A large number of people visited Shalimar for the second day on Monday to express sympathies and show solidarity with the bereaved Ansari family on the passing of Syeda Hameeda, widow of late Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari.
Cutting across political divide leaders from different political parties and religious and social organisations took to social media handles condoling the demise.
Syeda Hameeda, the widow of late Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari and daughter of late Aga Syed Muhammad Shah Jalali, passed away here on Sunday, December 17. She was laid to rest at Baba Mazar, Zadibal.
She was mother of Sajjad Haider, Editor Kashmir Observer, Shahid Ansari and Hamid Ansari, sister of Syed Iftikhar Jalali and aunt of Nasir Ansari and Maulana Masroor Ansari.
Senior journalists, political, religious and trade union leaders paid visit to the bereaved family.
The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Editor Kashmir Observer Sajjad Haider on the demise of his mother.
In their message Dr. Farooq and Omar Abdullah prayed for peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved Jalali and Ansari households to bear the inconsolable loss.
Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani Sogami, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, and State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar have also extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest realms of Jannat.
Party’s Chief Spokesperson and Communications head Tanvir Sadiq visited the bereaved Ansari household at Shalimar in Srinagar. Joined in by his associates and party’s local unit functionaries, he offered Fatiha for the deceased and prayed for peace to the soul of the departed.
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also condoled the demise of Syeda Hameeda and prayed for the patience of the bereaved family and relatives.
In his condolence message, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said the deceased was known for her piety and kindness.
“It was sad to hear about the passing away of Muhtarma Syeda Hameeda, who was known for her piety and kindness. May Almighty Allah rest her soul in Jannat ul Firdous and shower choicest blessings on her grave. I extend my deepest condolences to her brother Iftikhar Jalali, the bereaved sons Sajjad Haider, Shahid Ansari, Hamid Ansari, and her nephew Molvi Masroor Ansari.” Bukhari said in a statement.
“In this hour of grief, I stand in solidarity with the bereaved family, praying that Allah grants them the strength to endure the pain of this irreparable loss,” he added.
Earlier party leader Junaid Azeem Mattu visited the family at Shalimar to offer condolences.
Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) state unit also condoled the demise of Syeda Hameeda and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family, especially Editor Kashmir Observer, Sajjad Haider.
“Express my heartfelt condolences on the demise of the mother of Sajjad Haider, Editor-in-Chief Kashmir Observer, who was the widow of Maulana Mustafa Hussain Ansari. I pray to almighty Allah to bestow highest standards to the departed soul and help Sajjad bear the irreparable loss,” BJP J&K Spokesman, Altaf Thakur said in a statement.
Pairwan-E-Wilayat Jammu and Kashmir also expressed heartfelt condolences on the demise of Syeda Hameeda.
In its condolence message, Pairwan-E-Wilayat J&K extended heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies with Sajjad Haider Ansari, Shahid Ansari, Hamid Ansari, Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari and Nasir Abbas Ansari over the demise of the widow of renowned Islamic Scholar Hujat-ul-Islam, Maulana Mustafa Ansari,” PeW said in a statement issued here.
Meanwhile according to family sources congregational fateha will be offered at Baba Mazar on Wednesday at 8 AM and later a day long memorial service will continue at Gulshan-e-Ali Shalimar.
