Srinagar- At least thirteen shops were damaged in separate fire incidents in Srinagar and Ganderbal districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Saturday.
Six shops were damaged in the fire in a single-story shopping line in Batmaloo area of Srinagar. The fire broke out at around 2:34 am, news agency KNO quoting an official reported.
He added that the shopping line comprises numerous shops, and the timely response from the F&ES personnel prevented the fire from spreading.
Furthermore, no loss of life or injuries was reported in the incident, the official said, adding that the cause of the fire is being ascertained.
Meanwhile, at least seven shops of a shopping complex were gutted in a massive blaze that broke out in the main market of Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
They said that the midnight blaze caused extensive damage, particularly to two cloth houses within the complex.
The fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the flames, however, the belongings worth lakhs of rupees were damaged, said the officials.
There was no loss of life, or any injury reported in the incident, and the cause of fire is being ascertained.
