SRINAGAR– The Open Kashmir Taekwondo Championships 2023 concluded on Friday at Indoor Hall, Polo Ground here.
The championships were held from November 23 to 24 under the theme “Play For Peace” and were coordinated by the J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India.
A large number of players from various districts of Kashmir participated in the two-days long taekwondo championship.
Mohsina Jeelani from Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts won Silver Medal in the Open Kashmir Taekwondo Championship 2023.
Adil Hussain Khan, the coach of Grand Warriors, stated that encouraging girls to play sports is crucial for their overall growth and empowerment. It is imperative to challenge societal norms, provide equal opportunities, and create a safe and inclusive environment for girls in sports.
The chief guest on the event was Ajay Kumar Yadav (IG CRPF), while as RK Baruah Commandant 132 BN, Narinder Kumar CRO, Adv Neelofar, Padma Shree Faisal Ali, Manager Indoor Stadium, were guests of honour.
The Taekwondo Association also felicitated Ms. Afreen Hyder, who recently clinched Silver medal in 37th National Games which was held in Goa.
