Srinagar- The Executive Body Members of Parents Association of Delhi Public School, Srinagar on Wednesday held a meeting with Chairman of Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC), Justice (Retired) Sunil Hali, at his office to discuss the recent arbitrary fee hike approved by the committee in favour of the DPS Srinagar.
During the meeting, the executive members of the Association sought clarification regarding the order issued recently by the FFRC which approves almost 50 percent hike in annual fee and above 20 percent hike in the tuition fee.
The members also highlighted various issues and factors where the said school was found violation various orders issued by the FFRC from time to time. During the meeting the FFRC chairman was appraised that the school charges more than approved transport charges in clear violation of the FFRC orders.
It was also brought to the notice of the chairman that while FFRC has issued a clear-cut orders that the school must refund that admission fee charged from the parents for the past many years, the school was yet to act upon the same.
The Chairman was apprised that there were many other instances wherein the school has violated various government orders from time to time like charging of additional money in the name of in-house camping, exposure visits, picnic etc.
The members also urged the Chairman to take action against the school for the alleged financial irregularities which were highlighted by the ex-FFRC chairman in his order 636-FFRC(FF) of 2021 dated 01-11-2021.
The members welcomed various steps taken by the current chairman in making the school management answerable and were optimistic that the recent orders regarding the arbitrary fee hike will be revoked and also the committee will come forward to help the parents resolve several issues as have been mentioned in a detailed representation submitted to the office recently.
