SRINAGAR– Hosts J&K has taken the 67th National School Games by storm as its football and volleyball teams have reached the final stages of the tournaments.
J&K Football team played Bihar in the Pre Quarter Final match on Friday morning, and emerged victorious with an impressive performance. In the evening, they locked horns with a formidable Uttar Pradesh team in the quarter-finals at Polo Ground. J&K secured a semifinal berth after defeating UP 2-0.
Meanwhile, J&K Volleyball team dominated the Pre Quarter Final against a strong Delhi side, with a commanding 3-0 set victory. The match was a live spectacle, telecasted on the official Facebook channel of Youth Services & Sports J&K. Joint Director YSS Waseem Raja visited different venues on Friday and took stock of the arrangements.
J&K’s remarkable success at the 67th National School Games continues to capture the hearts of fans.
With the semi-finals on the horizon, J&K athletes will want to keep the momentum going.
The school nationals in twin disciplines is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K under the aegis of School Games Federation of India at various venues across Srinagar. The concluding ceremony/medal distribution function of the sports event is scheduled for 4th November at Synthetic Turf TRC.
