Srinagar- As the early advent of winter has brought about several challenges in the Valley, the Union Territory administration on Monday reiterated to provide adequate power supply to the consumers, asserting that the administration has geared up to meet any challenge with a plethora of modern-day paraphernalia at its disposal.
Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor said the government is outfitting itself with the necessary power supply to the consumers being in a considerably better position in terms of winter preparedness this year.
“in addition to power supply, we are preparing ourselves for emergency services while disaster management has also advanced as we have greatly increased our capability in handling snow clearance with a lot of new equipment in hand.”,” Bhatnagar told the media on the sidelines of a function at Tagore Hall.
Although there was progress made the previous year in terms of winter preparedness, but the administration this year is in a significantly much better position to handle the situation, LGs Advisor added.
All civic services including health care, he said will be accessible to address any potential need, while stocking of essentials will be completed well in time.
“Besides other services, all the civic bodies including health care will be kept available, while transport including emergency transport, fire services, ambulances and police services would be fully operational and definitely you would see that the arrangements will be much better this winter,” he said.
