Srinagar- With the parents of the prime accused being arrested within six days of the crime taking place, police on Monday claimed to have solved a blind murder involving a woman from the Bemina locality of Srinagar.
It may be in place to mention that the dead body of a woman identified as Tanvira, wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo of Nundreshi Colony Bemina was found lying mysteriously on the road at Durbal area of the city on October 17.
Police said the woman was murdered on October 16 at West End Colony in Hyderpora locality in uptown Srinagar, a day before her dead body was spotted by the locals at Durbal-Bemina area.
After murdering the woman, police said, her dead body was moved from Hyderpora to Durbal-Bemina to distract the police.
However, four accused were identified by the investigation team led by Station House Officer (SHO) police station Bemina based on the available technical assistance and the sustained questioning of the suspects.
The four have been identified as Abina Parvez, sister-in-law of the deceased, wife of Parveez Ahmad Shah of West End Colony, Hyderpora, a minor female child (name withheld), Ghulam Mohammad Ahanger son of Late Haji Ghulam Hussain Ahanger of Khushipora HMT at present Gulposh Apartment Bemina and one Jala Wadoo wife of Ghulam Mohammad Ahanger of Khushipora HMT at present Gulposh Apartment Bemina.
Police said the father and mother of the prime accused have been arrested so far in the case that left everyone shell-shocked.
“”After a thorough investigation led by SDPO West and assisted by SHO PS Bemina, it was established that the woman in question was murdered on October 16, 2023, at West End Colony in Hyderpora. Her body was then moved from Hyderpora to Durbal Bemina in order to distract the investigating agency,” police added.
A formal case FIR No. 101/2023 IPC sections 302 stand registered at Police station Bemina in this direction and further investigation into the case is on at the moment.
