Srinagar- Police on Thursday arrested a chemist and sealed his medical shop for possessing and supplying contraband substances to the youth in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.
The arrest came after an arrested youth Hilal Ahmad Ganie of Wakoora confessed that Ganie Medical Shop at Wakoora is a supplier of contraband substances to the local youth of the area, a police spokesperson said Thursday.
Acting swiftly on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, he said, a team led by police post Shadipora along with Executive Magistrate concerned raided Ganie Medical Shop at Wakoora and during search, contraband substance was recovered/seized on the spot
The chemist identified as Mehraj-ud-Din, he said, was also arrested.
“Moreover, the Medical Shop was also sealed by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class Wakoora on the spot,” the spokesperson said.
