SRINAGAR- Former captain of ARCO FC, Kamran Hameed, was selected to represent Jammu and Kashmir in the 77th Santosh Trophy at Goa.
“Hameed’s journey from local hero to an exceptional player representing J&K speaks volumes as to how ARCO FC has played a pivotal role in shaping the career of this exceptional athlete,” the football club said in a statement.
“During his time at ARCO FC, the player displayed exceptional skills, leadership qualities and a dedication to the sport that set him apart, the statement said, adding, the club provided the perfect platform for him to refine his abilities and instilled in him the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
“ARCO FC’s dedicated coaching staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and a supportive community have been instrumental in honing his skills,” the statement added.
Hameed credited ARCO FC for his success.
“My time at Arco FC was invaluable. The club not only polished my skills but also instilled in me a love for the game that continues to drive me today. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and support I received here,” he said.
Director of ARCO CEMENT, Imran Anim expressed immense pride in the player’s accomplishment.
“We have always believed in nurturing talent and providing a platform for aspiring athletes to reach their full potential. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to the development of football in our region,” he stated.
The J&K team’s 2023 Santosh Trophy campaign ended on a disappointing note, playing four games, winning one and losing three.
