Srinagar- Police have arrested three miscreants for allegedly manhandling women and vandalized private property during a marriage function in Noorbagh area of the old city here this evening.
The accused trio, police said was arrested on the charges of manhandling women and vandalizing private property during a marriage function.
Police identified the accused trio as Tahir Ahmad Sheikh, Mehrajuddin Sheikh and Danish Qayoom, all residents of Ghat Colony Naoorbagh.
A formal case FIR no 139 of 2023 under IPC sections 147, 323, 354, 392, 427 has been registered at Safa Kadal police station in this regard and investigation taken up.
Confirming the arrest, Srinagar police on X, formerly tweeter said three miscreants were arrested for vandalizing property and manhandling during a marriage function females in Noorbagh area of the old city.
“Three local miscreants namely 1) Tahir Sheikh 2) Mehrajuddin sheikh 3) Danish Qayoom, all of gath colony arrested for gate-crashing, creating ruckus & misbehaving with ladies in a marriage function in Noorbagh. FIR no 139/2023 u/s 147, 323, 354, 392, 427 IPC in safakadal PS,” Police said on X.
