Srinagar- Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a Rohingya national in Poonch district for creating a fake Aadhaar card and a ration card with the help of employees from different departments.
35-year-old Mohammad Noman, hailing from Myanmar has been booked at the Gursai police station of Mendhar subdivision in Poonch for making fake Aadhaar and ration card, a local news agency Kashmir Scroll reported
The accused, the report said, has been residing in the house of Nazir Hussain in Dhargloon Tehsil Balakote.
The police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 109 (abetment), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). The investigation into the matter has begun at the Gursai police station, he added.
Quoting an unnamed official, KS report said that police were expecting more arrests to be made in connection with this case.
“All individuals involved in the criminal conspiracy and forgery will be taken through the legal process to determine their involvement and assign appropriate legal consequences,” the official added.
