Kolkata- Enterprising Travel Agents’ Association – Kolkata (ETAA) launched cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan here on Tuesday. The purpose of the event is to celebrate The World Tourism Day along with Gandhi Jayanti at Gandhi Ghat, Gandhi Museum and Mangal Pandey Park Barrackpore, WB.
Yuva Tourism Club members and Kolkata based national and local media officials also joined ETAA some 25 Km away from Kolkata city on the banks of Ganga river.
This whole activity was powered by Tour Operators and TravelAgents Association Kolkatta and The Ministry of Tourism,Govt. of India.
More than 200 students participated from Guru Nanak Institute of Technology -Kolkata along with ETAA -Kolkata chapter of travel and trade companies.
ETAA conducted the following activities.
1. Heritage Walk with all students officials and local people.
2. Cleanliness drive at the nearby Ganga Ghats
3. Travel for Life Pledge by tourism stakeholders and students of Yuva Tourism Club
4. Felicitation of Guest of Honor to Dr. Arijit Banerjee founder Ramasis -Human solid waste management company along with national and local press attending officials Partha Chatterjee, & AniruddhaPal.
5. Endorsement from Local Celebrities and influencers
6. Street Art
Secretary , ETAA – Kaushik Banerjee addressed the gathering saying that this is their pleasure to conduct great social initiative m after they revived necessary approval from the Ministry of Tourism Government of India. The main objective of the event was to create awareness about clean environment and stop usage of plastic bags in daily life so that we leave behind a healthy climate for our future generations.
A special oath on Swachh Bharat/Incredible India mission was also taken during the 5 hour long programme
