Srinagar- A man slipped to death on Saturday in a forest area in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Showkat Ahmad Tekri of Gujjar Basti Rezan was collecting firewood in the upper reaches of the forest area, when he lost balance and fell down, reports said. Due to the fall, Showkat died on the spot.
The heavy rainfall had triggered slippery conditions in the area.
Soon after the incident, police reached the spot and recovered his body.
“After medico-legal formalities, his body will be handed over to her family members for the last rites,” an official told a local news agency KNO.
Mason Falls From Rooftop, Dies
Srinagar: A mason died after he fell down from a rooftop of a house in Zirpora area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.
Nazir Ahmad Ganai son of Abdul Salam Ganai of Zirpora was doing some work on the roof of the house when he slipped and fell down.
Ganai, he said, was immediately rushed to Sub-district hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries before the doctors could operate upon him.
