Srinagar– Thousands of devotees on Monday converged at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sultan ul Arifeen Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom (RA) in Srinagar to pay obeisance and participate in the special prayers.
The shrine on Koh-e-Maran, dedicated to the revered saint, witnessed a major gathering of devotees from various corners of the region.
During the 13-day period, the special prayers were held throughout the day followed by nightlong prayers on Sunday.
Thousands of devotees from across the valley gathered at the shrine on the eve of annual Urs on Monday.
Authorities at the shrine ensured the smooth conduct of the Urs, providing essential services and maintaining order.
“This gathering at Makhdoom Sahab (RA) shrine is a testament to our shared faith and the unity that binds us. It’s a beautiful sight to see people from all walks of life coming together to pay homage to the saint,” said Riyaz Ahmad, a local from Khanyar Srinagar.
“It’s a time when we pray for peace and prosperity in the region,” said Fatima Khan, a resident of Gojwara Srinagar.
