Srinagar- The Union Territory administration on Wednesday named a Primary School in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district after the security guard of government gunman-turned politician Kuka Parray.
The school located at Bonikhan Hajin was named as ‘Martry Shri Zahoor Ahmed Government Primary School’ during a function that was presided over by the Naib Tehsildar, Altaf Hussain, a local news agency KNT reported.
Besides Naib Tehsildar, the rechristening ceremony was attended by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora Muhammad Amin, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Hajin Abdul Rahim Lone and the family member of the slain cop, the report said.
Constable Zahoor Ahmed Parray was killed in 2003 when terrorists carried out an attack on the vehicle of Kuka Parray when he was on his way to inaugurate a cricket match in Sonawari area of Sumbal.
