Srinagar- Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said on Saturday that except traffic diversions, there will be no restrictions in Kashmir and that the internet and other services would function normally on 76th Independence Day of India.
Addressing media persons at his office here, Div Com Kashmir also extended an open invitation to the people of Kashmir to attend the main Independence Day function at Bakshi Stadium on August 15.
The Div Com said the credit for whatever historic decisions the government has taken over the years, goes to the people for helping the administration to create such a peaceful environment in Kashmir.
“My responsibility as a Div Com Kashmir is to invite people of Kashmir to attend the main event on August 15 at Bakshi Stadium. We are also holding a Tiranga Yatra tomorrow from SKICC to the Botanical Garden at 6am tomorrow and I invite you all to attend the event. People need not to carry any Tiranga in their hands, besides refreshment will also be served to attendees,” he added.
He said besides those having received invitations to attend the main I-day function at Bakshi Stadium, the general public can also be the part of these celebrations for which enormous sacrifices have been rendered by the people of India.
“All preparations in this direction have been completed. This is a festival of joy and we are celebrating it. The administration chose Bakshi stadium owing to the space crunch at SKCC Sonwar so that more and more people could participate in the event,” he added.
