SRINAGAR– The Jammu and Kashmir Football Association on Thursday named a four-member Selection Committee set to be headed by renowned coach Sajid Yousuf Dar.
A crucial JKFA meeting was convened Thursday to discuss the formation of the Selection Committee. “The primary aim of this committee is to ensure fair and effective player selection processes for upcoming National football events,” the FA said.
“Following thoughtful deliberation, it has been unanimously decided that Mr. Sajid Yousuf Dar will take on the responsibility of leading the Selection Committee as its Chairman,” it said.
Said Dar is a former J&K footballer who took to coaching in 2004 after an illustrious career representing J&K in Santosh Trophy and JK SRTC and Iqbal Sports FC at local club level. Dar is now an AFC Licensee and an AIFF Educator. He has coached the Indian National Women’s and U-16s teams.
The University of Kashmir football coach will now oversee the Selection Committee, which includes Zahoor Ahmad Teli, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Rajesh Samberia and Moon Stephen.
“The Selection Committee will also be comprised of esteemed members who have been selected for their expertise and dedication to the sport,” the statement added.
