Srinagar- A middle-aged man was attacked and injured on Thursday by a black bear in Lolab Valley of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
50-year-old Mohammad Yousuf Mir was attacked by a female bear in his native Shranth village of Khurhama on Thursday morning, reports said. The injured man was removed by the villagers to a nearby health facility for immediate medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife Department has launched an operation to tranquilize the roaming bear at an earliest to avoid any untoward incident in the area.
