Srinagar- Police on Friday claimed to have arrested four militant associates for their involvement in a grenade attack in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district last year.
On May 24 2022, a grenade was hurled on a police party at Main Chowk Yaripora, which missed the intended target and exploded in the crowd leaving 13 persons injured, a police spokesperson said Friday.
Accordingly, he said, a case FIR No. 24/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation of the case was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the spokesperson said that police and Army’s 1RR arrested four militant associates/conspirators for their involvement in the attack.
He identified them as Nasir Nabi Dar, Mohd Abass Dar, Aaqib Majid Ganie and Zahid Ali Bhat.
“Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including a pistol, 02 pistol magazines, 14 pistol rounds and a hand grenade were recovered from their possession. Investigation of the case is going on,” the spokesperson added.
