Srinagar- All major Shia organizations on Wednesday urged mourners to assemble at Guru Bazar locality of this capital city and take part in the 8th Muharram procession being taken out on Thursday after a gap of 34 years.
The reaction of Shia organizations came hours after the Jammu and Kashmir administration decided to lift the ban on 8th Muharram procession from Guru Bazar to Dalgate with conditions.
Welcoming the decision of LG Manoj Sinha led administration to lift the ban on 8th Muharram procession, President J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shiayan Dar-al-Mustafa Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi al-Safavi said that he looks forward to a similar ban revocation for the joint Jaloos-r-Ashura from Abiguzar to Zadibal on its traditional route.
“It is informed with great faith and gratitude that the 33 years of struggle and sacrifices of Azadars of Jammu and Kashmir have reclaimed our legitimate right to take out a peaceful mourning procession,” ; Aga Syed Hassan said
“The Azadars are requested to participate widely, and the pledge is to remain peaceful and fully dedicated to Imam-e-Mazloom, Imam Hussain Alihe Salam and the Martyrs of Karbala in letter and spirit,” he added.
Ittihadul Muslimeen (JKIM) President Maulana Masroor Abbas Ansari also urged the people to reach Guru Bazar at 6 am and participate in the procession.
“We will take out this procession in the most peaceful manner. Let the entire world witness our discipline, our determination of not giving up on our religious rights,” he said.
President All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association, Molvi Imran Reza Ansari also made a fervent appeal to the mourners to attend the procession.
“I urge all the Azadars of Imam Hussain (AS) to participate in this historical juloos in a peaceful manner, becoming the messengers of Hussain (AS) to the whole world. Let our devotion resonate with love and compassion, as we carry the timeless message of Imam Hussain’s sacrifice,” he added.
