Srinagar- Police on Monday arrested two persons for allegedly killing a stray dog at Badamwari area in the old city.
A police official told Kashmir Observer that two persons were arrested on charges of meting out cruelty and brutally killing a stray dog in Badamwari, days after purported presence of leopard created panic in the entire area. He said the incident took place on Friday last.
A formal case Fir No. 29 of 2023 under sections 429 of IPC and section 11(1) of PCA act was registered at police station Rainawari in this regard and both the accused were arrested.
The accused duo has been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Beig of Rehmaniya Colony, Lal Bazar and Adnan Shah of Hawal Badmawari.
Confirming the incident and subsequent arrest of the accused involved in killing of stray dog, Srinagar police in a tweet said “Two people, Gulzar Ahmad Beigh of Rehmaniya colony, Lal Bazar, and Adnan Shah of Hawal Badamwari, were arrested for cruelty and brutally killing a stray dog near Badamwari Rainawari on July 21, 2023.” FIR No. 29/2023 U/S 429 IPC & Sec. 11 (1) of PCA Act, registered in PS Rainawari”
