Srinagar- Police on Monday booked four people in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in anti-national and anti-social activities.
According to a police spokesperson, all the four were slapped with PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
The police identified them as Abdul Hameed Khan, Danish Ahmad Shah, Assadullah Parray and Hilal Ahmad Ganie.
A resident of Watrina village, Khan, according to a police spokesperson, was earlier a stone pelter and was now involved in cheating and drug peddling related cases.
Shah, he said, was an active terrorist associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), while Parray was a member of APHC & terrorist associate and involved in 14 criminal cases.
“His persistent involvement in anti-social and anti-national activities is posing a severe threat to maintenance of public order and security of the state,” he added.
Ganie, the spokesperson said, was a repeated offender, and involved in a number of cheque bounce cases besides two other criminal cases.
All the accused persons, he said, have been booked under PSA for their continuous involvement in anti-national, anti-social activities after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority and have been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
