SRINAGAR- Two matches of the 2023 Srinagar Premier Football League were played on Friday at Synthetic Turf TRC.
In the first match, Jehlum FC took on Iqbal Sports FC at 3:00 PM. The game was contested between two evenly matched teams and they split the first half 0-0. The second half seemed to have a goal in it, but both teams failed to break the deadlock. At full time, the scores read 0-0. Swastik Mukherjee, GK, Iqbal Sports FC was awarded man of the match.
The second contest of the day was played between Downtown Heroes FC and Ali Jana FC, and was a highly anticipated matchup that saw hundreds of football fans throng the stadium. The Heroes had some chances in the first half, but couldn’t convert any. The second half also had some chances for Downtown Heroes, but the Ali Jana defense and goalie held on to thwart any attempt at goal. At full time whistle, the scores were 0-0. Ali Jana’s GK won the man of the match award for his incredible performance.
