Srinagar- Terrorists on Thursday shot at and injured three migrant labourers in Shopian town of South Kashmir, officials said.
Anmol Kumar, Heralal Yadav and Pintu Kumar Thakur were passing through Gagran area of Shopian town on Thursday evening when masked militants opened fire upon them from close range, they said. The trio sustained injuries in the surprise militant attack.
They were taken to the district hospital, Shopian for treatment. However, the doctors there referred them to Srinagar’s SMHS hospital for advanced treatment. The condition of Anmol Kumar was said to be critical when the last reports came in.
“Terrorists fired upon three outside labourers in Shopian. Injured persons are Anmol Kumar, Pintu Kumar Thakur and Heralal Yadav, all residents of Distt Supaul, Bihar, being shifted to hospital. Cordon being launched,” Kashmir Police posted earlier on its official Twitter handle.
Will Bring Perpetrators To Justice: LG
The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Thursday condemned attack on migrant labourers in South Kashmir’s Shopian district and said that no efforts will be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Strongly condemning the terror attack in Shopian in which three people have been injured, the LG said such barbaric acts targeting labourers highlight the desperation and cowardice of terrorists and their sympathizers, an official spokesperson said.
Sinha, he said, directed the district administration to ensure all possible assistance to those injured and their family members.
“The Lt Governor said no efforts will be spared to bring the perpetrators to justice,” he added.
